The Centre is planning to mobilise ₹7.86 trillion through dated securities including Sovereign Green Bonds of ₹15,000 crore during the October-March period of 2026-27, the finance ministry said on Friday.
Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, in the Budget, proposed to borrow ₹17.2 trillion to fund its fiscal deficit projected at 4.3 per cent of the GDP.
In absolute terms, the fiscal deficit is pegged at ₹16.9 trillion for 2026-27.
